Essence Vintage District Eye Shadow in Shopping at Portobello Road - Review and Swatches
Every time essence introduced their limited trend edition, it comes with different theme which brings beautiful products and catchy packaging. The downside is that you can not get them easily as they are available mostly online and you most probably miss them. I recently saw eyeshadow in shopping @ portobello road from their vintage collection and ordered it with rest of my order, it was the only and last thing they got in their stock from this collection.

My Thoughts
This shade comes in transparent plastic packaging which is simple and pretty but prone to scratches. The color shopping @ portobello road is blue-green shade which is more blue and have green undertones. You can see kind of ink drops on top of the eyeshadow which are in bright red, silver and mustard colors. These drop colors are from their vintage eyeshadow colors. These drops are only on top and will disappear after few uses.

If you slide your brush on this eyeshadow the drops will be mixed in the blue shade and create little different color which is light and bright and you can use as light eyeshadow for few time but do not spread on whole as you can not get real color until these drops disappear.

The texture of this eyeshadow is very soft and smooth and the pigmentation is quite good as well. It gives good color payoff even without any eyeshadow base or primer. In first swap it will appear light blue green shade but it is easily build able and you can achieve your favorite look whether it is light or dark glamorous look. This shade lasts 4 to 5 hours. The finish is not shimmery but not entirely matte as well, instead it has subtle shine to it. The look i created above includes this shade and touch of a champagne from Lorac pro palette.

Overall this is quite pretty color with soft and smooth texture, have good pigmentation and build able from light to dark.

In Favor

  • Soft Texture
  • Long lasting
  • Build able light to dark
  • Color drops give different shade
  • Subtle shine finish
  • Budget friendly

Not in Favor

  • Not available easily
  • Not entirely matte
My Rating
4.5/5
