First of all the magic of Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate lies in its thoughtfully curated blend of natural oils. Infused with ingredients like evening primrose oil, lavender essential oil, and squalane, this formula works synergistically to hydrate, soothe, and restore the skin’s barrier while you sleep. Despite its luxurious texture, this oil absorbs quickly into the skin, leaving behind no greasy residue. Its lightweight consistency makes it suitable for all skin types, from dry to oily, ensuring that everyone can benefit from its nourishing properties without feeling weighed down.
As it is a part of night time routine, after using it, I wake up to skin that feels smoother, plumper, and more radiant. Having extreme dry skin, i noticed that fine lines appear softened, and any signs of dullness or dehydration are banished, leaving behind a complexion that looks refreshed and revitalized. Whether used alone or layered with your favorite moisturizer or serum, this oil enhances the efficacy of other products, amplifying their benefits for maximum results.
Having the blend of amazing essential oils, Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Concentrate offers a sensorial experience that soothes the mind as well as the skin. The calming aroma of lavender essential oil creates a sense of tranquility, helping to ease stress and promote a restful night’s sleep.
Now having said all the praise about this miracle in small bottle which cost around $47, i thought to DIY it my self because it only includes some essential oils.
Using their oil as our inspiration, i took the same three oils Kiehl’s list as their key ingredients Lavender Oil, Evening Primrose Oil, and Squalane Oil and decided to create our own. As both Evening Primrose oil and Squalane oil are carrier oils, we used half of each to create the same 30ml quantity on our fav Kiehl’s recipe, 15ml of Primrose, 15ml of Squalane, and few drops of lavender oil. If you cannot find Squalane oil then you can substitute it with Jojoba oil and Rose Hip seed oil. Also make sure to get high quality oils to get the same experience as the original product.
Ingredients:
- 15 ml Squalane Oil (7 ml Jojoba Oil and 7 ml Rosehip Seed Oil as replacement)
- 15 ml Evening Primrose Oil
- 5 drops Lavender Essential Oil
In a clean, dry glass dropper bottle, add the squalane oil and in case of alternatives combine jojoba oil and rosehip seed oil in equal parts.
Add the lavender essential oil and evening primrose oil to the bottle, using the dropper to carefully dispense the drops.
Secure the lid tightly on the bottle and shake well to thoroughly blend the oils.
Your DIY Midnight Recovery Oil is now ready to use! Apply a few drops to cleansed skin before bedtime, gently pressing and massaging into the skin until fully absorbed.
